The world of Maldene has quite a few sites both magical and dangerous, places of mystery, places of wondrous magic. But in all of Maldene, there is no place with more fearsome a reputation as that of Dalnosh Teyon… the Swamp of Doom.
Located on an equatorial island that’s nearly all swamp, the Swamp of Doom constitutes the very center of it. The fact of the vicious creatures therein, or the presence of plants that cans wallow the likes of a tiger whole, or even the glowing radioactive fog, is not what earns it such a reputation. This is a place that will foul any magic, mutate anything or anyone caught too long within it, and even have its effects on those with psychic aptitude. No, the reason why it is so very much feared lies in why it is such a danger to begin with; why does the swamp gas visibly glow, why is all magic fouled, why the excessive mutations, why everything. For, as legend has it, there is something beneath Dalnosh Teyon. Something primal, something that has been around before all else.
Something best left alone.
Of course, there is no one who can say if this is true or not, but just in case… if you ever find yourself unlucky enough to venture into the heart of Dalnosh Teyon, and happen upon a patch of bubbling quicksand… Well, I’d say to run as fast and far as you can, but it’s already too late.
