There is a card in the Greater Tarot of Maldene that best describes two opposing characters from the series.

‘The Animal’ represents strength in various forms.  In its upright position it points to power, courage, and action, while its left corner refers to tempered strength and strength of character.  Properties represented by a large man by the name of Bronto.

Bronto, as the saying might go, is as strong of heart as he is of arm.  A companion of the wizard Sabu, Eldar the elf, Candol the priest, and the rest.  While his preferred method of conquering an enemy is over a large mug of ale, he never shies away from an enemy no matter how big.  His favorite sword probably weight about as much as Eldar, but attempting to arm wrestling a dragon if he has to is not out of the question.

His nemesis is best represented by the right corner of The Animal; that which represents a domineering attitude and abuse of power.  A person by the name of Grong.

As you might judge by this picture, Grong is huge; not a full giant but at nine feet tall and supernaturally strong even for that, he can punch out some dragons with a single swing.  He is also a bully that has been Miro’s main General for centuries at the least (more, actually, but that’s getting ahead of ourselves).  His favorite hobby when he’s in a mood to gloat, is once he has an opponent lying beaten on the ground before him, is to break every single body in the other’s body, one punch at a time.  And yeah, if you’re serving under him and do something wrong, you don’t get second chances (at living).

Needless to say, the encounters that Bronto has with Grong are somewhat mythic.  Thunder, lightning, very very frightening– you get the idea.  No weapon can breach Grong’s skin, and Bronto’s not one to give up no matter how bad the odds.  Basically, Immovable Object meet Irresistible Force.

Who will win in the end?  Why don’t we ask these three ladies…
