There is a particular symbol you may have found squirreled away on my site, or perhaps crammed onto the edge of one of my graphics or at the end of the Maldene book trailer.  You’ll even see it etched into that weird map found at the end of the first Maldene novel.  You’ll find it without explanation or hint.

And yet, it figures rather prominently into the overall plot for the Maldene story.  In fact, it is clue to the single most important plot point in the entire series, on or off Maldene itself.

What does this symbol mean?  Just the very puzzle that Sabu, Eldar, and Sindar ponder after they first stumble over it.  the infinity sign is obvious, and the middle symbol might be taken as a connector, but that triangle within the triangle on the left.  I’l;l leave you to ponder that for a bit while I frame it in a different way.

The Flame, of the Greater Arcana, is a card of raw power, while The Coiled Dragon tells us that this power is restrained but ready to be unleashed, but be careful as this power can go very badly awry if one is not careful.  Sounds like this combination could be applied to a number of things… until we see one of the High Arcana following them up, influencing them both.

The World, of the High Arcana, is a card of hidden secrets, in this case the ultimate hidden secret.  One that would be influenced by The Sun as well, for its unequaled influence on Fate, and by The Moons, for the combination of both growth and calamity that surrounds the story behind what that mysterious symbol represents.

Yes, that symbol points to a very important location indeed.  One that you will discover in the second book, “Maldene II: Mysteries of Olde”.
